I don't agree with Kasz, hardly ever, and have been arrested completely wrongly, by a cop excited to find some reason to arrest me, and that was extremely irritating,since I didn't do anything... I ended up with no penalty but thats besides the point.
If I'm not mistaken his whole point, is that Police have the same/less rights as everybody else. Which should be the case, because as much as I don't like certain police officers, there are plenty of good police officers that shouldn't have their lives ruined by the media sensationalizing (which they always do) certain events.
75 years isn't going to happen, and there is a high chance that this case will get thrown out. (if this happens then everything here is overblown, but shows the inefficiency's of our countries system). But, it's likely the media sensationalizing the story to get more attention.
In essence there is a reason for the law, but, perhaps the spirit of the law is being broken. Unfortunately, people, not just police officers always try to break the spirit of things for their own means.
