Well I thought it would be close but just miss. I figured with the economy sales in US would just deny it a win over 2010 - but I was wrong there

I always said MS would play strong bundles/advertising over holiday's in the US and I have to hand it to them they did so well enough to overcome earlier sales trends and beat 2010. Now I'm almost thinking they might just take number 1 home console for the year. I still think that's going to be close but a just miss - but who knows they turned this "close but miss" into a win.

This really is turning out to be a history defining gen. 360 keeps growing, PS3 keeps growing, while Wii, the early leader is now the only one apparently following the rules and clearly dipping with a successor on the way.

More than ever I'm really doubtful - unless they chose to for other reasons - that we'll see a new Xbox or Playstation before Q4 2013. Just seems no need looking at HW/SW sales and the market.
