Also, I think there's one more 2D Platformer that juuust beats out this game's brilliance... and looking at my avatar and knowing that Sky Sanctuary Zone is my ringtone... I think you know what that game is. 
But yes, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is amazing. AMAZING!!!
