A little over half a million to go! I do love a close race! Now lets all hope that VGC doesn't screw up like the past few X-mas severely undertracking the PS3 while overtracking the Xbox360 to an extent where it sold more than it shipped.

During the last 5 or 6 weeks they undertracked the PS3 by 3,700 and overtracked the 360 by 86,000. So I wouldn't exactly call that "severely undertracking" on the PS3's part.

Like almost everything on this website people overdramatized it.

As I asked thx1139 in another thread, do you have links that show this?  I could have sworn it was by more.  Of course, I could be thinking of another year.

Ask Postofficebuddy cause he was the one that did 5 or 6 weeks of comparisons between the OP of WW sales threads and the the numbers Vgchartz has now.

Here you go. But like I said in that thread, that's just adjustments for December. Look at this for total adjustments.

postofficebuddy,

I dont understand what the last link is trying to show with relation to adjustments.
1. Dont see total yearly adjustments. I have never known VGC making a point that adjustments were made.
2. Adjustments are made all of the time.  The weekly links when numbers 1st come out are compared now with the archive of sales so you can see the adjustments.

If your trying to show that an individual console was adjusted up or down over the year we know that already. It is when they were adjusted.  PS3 and 360 have already had adjustments for weeks during November and December.  The analysis I did was comparing the initial sales to the eventual adjusted sales in the VGC archive.  What we can see is that the PS3 was only adjusted 3,713 for those weeks comparing initial sales report to what is current in the VGC database.

Sure other parts of 2010 could have had adjustments. The question is when? If August sales were adjusted in September and October then it doesnt matter. What is being claimed is that year after year PS3 holiday sales tracking get large adjustments after the beginning of the next year.  Last year that adjustment was 3,713.

PS3 sales were adjusted up a lot because of "the Move factor" later on. A whole lot more than 3.7k anyway

Then that must have happend in September and October of 2010.  Because the original values for each of the weeks and the values currently in the database indicate a 3,713 change.    Not to mention I dont expect a "Move Factor" adjustment this year.  I have shown figures that show that the whole PS3 holiday sales in 2010 got adjusted up a lot is a myth.  Show us something that proves that my figures are wrong.

Yeah I think that was mostly Oct-Nov. Still doesn't change the fact that the adjustments happened during the new year. Now we don't have Move but we do have the price cut.

OK so now the claim is that the sales for the PS3 in August through October are way off and the PS3 will be adjusted up for sales from that time period. The areas that will be adjusted will be the areas where tracking is difficult (not US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, or Japan) and the adjustments will be in the 100s of thousands.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
