Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater, What makes it so good?

I honestly think MGS 3 had the best story and the best boss fights, sure the game play isn't as good as 4 but I still enjoyed it more.

I'd rank them

MGS3 > MGS4 > MGS1 > MGS PW > MGS2

Also portable ops is horrible, never play that game.
