What compels you to open up a thread and post?

I personally post in any thread that I think deserves a snarky one line response, since that's normally what I do.

I don't have any idea what type of thread other people want to post in and this is why I have threads that have had several hundreds of responses and some that have struggled to make it to the second page. This a major reason why I am writing less and less threads...
