Hasn't M$ or bungie or someone stated that halo 3 has sold over 14 million?

Edit: here's the link. It states over 14.5 million sold. It's a halo waypoint official xbox site. Waypoint was made by 343 studios which belongs to microsoft. Should probly update the numbers...

Well I was going to say that I think that 14.5 number is what Halo CE and Halo 2 sold but I looked and together they sold 14.96. So either Vgchartz has Halo CE and or Halo 2 overtracked or that 14.5 million figure is really what Halo 3 sold. I'm leaning towards the first one though since it seems more likely. Because if MS knew Halo 3 was the best selling 360 game you can bet they would trumpet about it quite loudly and often.

But I really do wish that Halo 3 has sold 14.5 million.

that statement was made before halo 3 was released. Its entirely possible halo ce and halo 2 have sold another 500k in the past 4-5 years considering they are still being sold retail in many locations throughout the United States. But anyway it is not halo 3 sales.

Ah ok that definitely makes sense then. So that's not Halo 3's sales, kind of figured that was the case.

It's kinda worrying when you can't even remember what someone told you and some others about a month ago: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4289998

No I remember that thread just fine (I don't remember Carl's post though). It's just that in that thread I didn't read the link very well except the 14.5 number. In this thread when I saw him say that I was just about to say that the 14.5 number was Halo CE and Halo 2 put together and back it up with sales figures from both games...but then I saw that together they had almost 15 million sales which got me wondering a bit hence my reply to ironmanDX.
