That's purely anecdotal and probably very region specific to you.
For example: Uncharted 3 saw some decent advertising, lots of tv and billboard ads where I live, I haven't seen a single advertisment for GT since GT5 prologue launched back in 2008, with a few tv ads. GT has been included in a few 'montage' esq playstation advertisments released since then, but that's been it.
