The site has been over and undertracking different consoles several times. The X360 has been overtracked at times, the Wii has been overtracked at times, the Ps3 has been overtracked at times, as has the DS and PsP. They've all been undertracked at times too. When the numbers are wrong, it's down to an error, or just the data sample not being representative. It isn't down to a petty dislike of one console, that's all in your mind. The by far most likely reason for why it isn't updated yet, is that VGChartz has to be relatively certain before updating the numbers. They also need to be a lot more precise than what you need. Let's say they find out that the X360 is hugely undertracked. They have to find out both in which weeks it was undertracked and in which countries it was undertracked. They can know that their numbers are wrong, but if they don't have any better estimates, they have to stick to the ones they have. |
I understand what your trying to say and I did think that eariler. But given the fact that they've already adjusted the weeks and are still undertracking the PS3 and overtracking the Wii in the coming weeks (I'm basing this on November 2011 NPD) really sounds stupid. Despite them having data that can provide them with most of the information for each territory (with the exception of Asia and Pasific and some countries in Europe) they still haven't gotten down accurate data. I must say there software tracking and hardware tracking is now much stronger in Europe and its much more weakning in the U.S.A./Americas.
