So that's why things are so 'expensive' over there despite the dollar being similar to America's.

and because of import taxes and some legacy as people are "used to" the prices. Howver people have slowly been buying more and more online, so retailers have become a bit more competative. They have reached a point where the Government is thinking about taxing people for buying online hahahaha.
