17. Forza Motorsort 3

     To me, this is the definitive racing sim. Yes GT5 and Forza 4 have better physics, and both games have more cars, but this game had the best selection of cars. It had Porsche, and I know that's a bizzare first compliment to give a game, but damn Porsche is my favorite car company and it's a pain in the ass that EA keeps them from the great sims of today.

     However outside of Porsche, this was also the most in depth sim at the time, and wasn't surpased in quality, even by GT5, until Forza 4 released in 2011. This game had high resolution graphics with an interior car view on all 400 cars in the game. The distribution of cars was excellent between manufacturer, and heck there are some great cars in this game I was not aware of before. The only car I feel this game needs, but lacks, is the Ariel Atom, but I bet if they rendered that exposed car in this game, the 360 would crash. Regardless, this game had over 100 hours of play, and every race was unique. Some races involved GT3 cup cars, some limited you to American 2 seaters, some limited you to ricers, but every race was different. So different, you almost never raced in the same car twice unless it was the fastest car you had in it's class. This game offered the complete experience for any sim racers, and yes I have 1,000/1,000 in this game. Took over 100 hours, but it was well worth it. This is the only sim I ever got 100% completion on, and to be honest, it's the only one worth playing that much of (Sims take longer to complete then the longest RPGs!).

     This really was the racing sim where you got to drive your dream cars, and because of that, this game crushes GT3 (my favorite GT, for the same reasons, a complete package at the time). Best sim ever made IMO, it was a huge leap in sim quality and graphics at the time, and it offers the most complete package because of Porsche.

P.S. Making my list this year, I think Gran Turismo 3 and 5 should have made my top 50. GT3 was the first racing sim that I really got into, and it did the same for me this game did nearly a decade earlier. Next years list will be a bit different.
