Looks reasonable, and one of the possible Sony strategies. Actually, IMVHO, due to Sony structure and typical strategies, that must compromise amongst a wide range of different needs, any predicted strategy that isn't either extreme or totally random or devoid of logic, should be considered reasonable, while we can safely rule out wacky extreme predictions like "PS4 will release yesterday" or "PS3 will last another 25 years" Obviously a "reasonable" prediction can be wrong, but it's still a different thing from an unreasonable one. About PS4, we can't exactly predict the titles, but we surely can predict that Sony, again due to its typical strategy, will try to offer a wide and balanced line-up. About GT6, I'd dare to predict that if it will be a PS4 title, it will be preceded by GT6 Prologue. |
You can predict the PS4 will have a wide and balanced lineup, but PS3 didn't, so why should you?
However I think Sony will be smarter with the PS4 launch now that MS is a confirmed compeditor (for PS3, the gen before that the XB sold like crap compared to PS2, so it wasn't a confirmed compeditor, and neither was Nintendo, but boy was Sony hurt by their cockyness).
Unlike the PS2 to PS3 gen change, I think we will see less current gen games released near or after the release of PS4, and more next gen games. Meaning if PS3 were PS2 and PS4 were PS3, we would have seen GT4 and God of War 2 as early PS3 titles.
Someone else pointed out a good....point. It;s likely Sony will be making their studios (like Naughty Dog) make new IP's for the end of PS3 because of strong software sales, and old IP's (like Uncharted) will be early PS4 titles used to pursway new console buyers to get a PS4 (since they know Uncharted is excellent, but The Last of Us could be anything).
