Not all games take forever to localize, Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases like 2 months after it's Japan release. Japanese titles are no exception to Sony's first party library.
But that's not the point is it? The game was still release on 2008 right? If It weren't then you have an argument.
Also 1.5 years for some titles balances out with 2.5 for others. 2 years is a common normal.
I have shown you a lot of titles with mos. only.
For GT6, Polyphony Digital officiall announced they are working on a GT6. The game has been announced. Were not talking about knowing a game is in development (We all knew there was going to be an Uncharted 3 after Uncharted 2).
I'm cherry picking? Most games fall within a 1.5-2.5 year announce to release span, and I said same are noticably longer (like Last Guardian, which still isn't out). Who is to say their games announced 2008 and after won't be delayed? Maybe Starhawk will be a 2014 title? How can you know that it won't given Sony's past history? I mean since the launch of PS3 there has always been a game in development which didn't release until over 3 years after launch, and I'm sure after Last Guardian releases, there will be something else (likely a PS4 game though).
Again I am not even arguing about the delays. It's pretty common in the industry. I am qouting you because you said that Sony announced a lot of their games far too early and its' common for them to release it after 2-3 years. I already gave you a lot of examples that Sony release their games on 1 year time frame or so when they were announced while you, can only give me few and that's the 4 games you still keep hanging on.
As 2008 part what are the games that was announced on 2008 that hasn't been release yet can you please name some.
The cherry picking is on the GT 6 and to your Japanese game list only. GT 6 was not formally announced, PD just confirmed they are working on it. IIRC it came from an interview. Notice why we still haven't seen a trailer for it because it wasn't formally or offically announced.
Confiming my arguement to 2012 games doesn't derail the thread. The thread is about Past present and future PS3 games, we all know past and present are excellent, so I only commented about the future. You don't have to quote just me, if I only talk about half the OP.
Can you please read the OP again? The sole purpose of this thread is to discuss how awesome PS3 exlusives are and how Sony are delivering and Sony keeps on making games on the PS3. He doesn't care if it was delayed or How dry the PS3 line-up on 2012.
As for the PS3 dying, it has a lot to do with the thread. Were talking about Sony's great games, past, present, and future. The future is PS4, PS3 doesn't have much left in it.
Is PS4, PS3?
Again way to miss the point of the OP. This is a light hearted thread to discuss future PS3 games. Like you know Last of Us, Starhawk, Sly 4, MLB 2012, Last guardian, Twisted metal and the potential games from some the Sony devs. Maybe if you have said "I think some of those projects will be on the PS4" and didn't add something like PS3's 2012 line-up is dry, Sony is known for delays and Sony announced game far too early. We won't be in this mess. We aren't even talking about that but ofcourse you feel the need to add those and try to ruined a very light hearted thread.
I mean I didn't expect 10+ responses to my comment, I was just pointing out this observation of mine. People are too sensitive. If talking about PS3's future being dry is too much for you, then talk about the present, geez.
Sensitive? I don't even care about your opinion. It's just that this isn't the thread for your so called observation. The OP did't even ask for that. If this thread was about "what do you think about the PS3 future" then feel free to post on your thoughts but this thread is about PS3 exclusives from the past, present and the future.

But no. White Knight Chronciles wasn't released in Americas in 2008. It was announced in 2007, and released in 2010.
If I lived in Japan and had to wait a year extra for a western game, that would count too.
The 4 games I mentioned (Heavy Rain, GT5, Killzone 2, and The Last Guardian), were released 3.5-5 years after announcement. Except for The Last Guardian, you brought them back up, not me. I still provided a handful of games with development times of 2 years plus, and I limited that to 2008+. Regardless add The Last Guardian, White Knight Chronciles, and a sizable amount of games with a 1.5-2 year life span, plus the handful of games you mentioned (LBP2, and Killzone 3) and I would still think the average announce to release rate is somewhere between 1.5 and 2 years.
I do agree, Sony is better now then it was before, a lot better, but you can't just forget about Last Guardian and well all of Sony's Japanese games. The take longer to release and localize, and generally their bigger games do take over 1.5 years to release after announcing.
Can you stop telling me to read the OP? You read the OP. I already said I agree with Sony having a great past, but I don't think the future for the PS3 will be as fruit full. If this topic is derailing from the OP, it's because you keep quoting me and trying to change my opinion on the one aspect of the OP I disagree upon (the future).
Why shouldn't I say 2012 PS3 has a dry line-up? Why does everyone on VGC have to have a super optimistic view of PS3? Why should I tip toe what I want to say around the feeling of others. Stop being senstive, accept others have a different opinion, and grow up. I think most of the unconfirmed projects will be PS4 games AND I think PS3 has a dry 2012 lineup, accept that.
Disagree if you like, but don't force your opinion onto me, and don't whine when I tell you off.
Wow....you keep telling me to read the OP, but you just contradicted yourself. So I should make my own thread to talk about the PS3's future with Sony's first party games, but in a thread about past, present, and future PS3 first party games, I shouldn't include it? That literally, makes no sense, stop being senstive.
