Just looked and there is a much quicker, if still a little awkward, way of doing it.
Look at the URL for the numbers page http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/40881/Global/ (<3rd dec 2011)the number represents the 'date' and by subtracting 7 from the number it goes back a week, http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/40874/Global/ (<26th Nov 2011).
Edit: just noticed the new 'Chart Index' right after posting :(
