How is that on-rails? Just because you are in a horse for majority of the game doesn't make it on-rails, as long as you can go wherever you want with the horse. Its like in Assasin's Creed, when you get on a horse, does that mean the game becomes on-rails? Of course not, you can still control where you are going or what you are doing. On-rails to me is something like House of the Dead where you are being guided along a pre-determined path with pretty much no control of where you are going for the entirety of the game. That said, I don't even play Fable, neither am I a big fan of Kinect, I don't own either. But I am willing to see what they can pull off, new things should always be given a chance atleast. |
Oh so you can make the horse move left and right? Even in your description you made it sound like you can only make the horse stop or go. If you can change direction then I guess thats a tiny bit better. A horse and carriage is defintely not the most agile may to move or avoid attacks though. It sounds like instead of solving the mobility problem they went, "hey if we put the character in a carriage we can use that as the excuse for why they can't move quickly in any direction quickly or effectively".
This is like Congress calling pizza a vegetable: "Yeah I mean it kinda is I guess... but every knows that its not".
I would love to see Kinect used this way too, but I don't think Lionhead is going to be the dev that makes the breakthrough if this is their solution.
