StarHawk, The Last Guardian and Twisted Metal will not push hardware. There might be a blip on the radar, but nothing that will sustain hardware sells. There won't be a KillZone, LittleBigPlanet or Uncharted. So releasing a game like The Last of Us in 2011 becomes much more needed. Plus there won't be a Ratchet or Resistance coming either. When God of War IV gets announced that will help bolster the PS3, but won't be enough to launch PS3 numbers high enough. Titles like Metal Gear Rising: Revengenence and Final Fantasy XIII-2 will help out overall, but again nothing that will be major. A game like Final Fantasy Versus XIII (I hope it gets a new name) would make a big splash, but it doesn't look like it will ever get the main focus of Square-Enix (unless Sony steps in to assist in development or throw funds at the game). |
Good post. SONY could really do with some heavy marketting, and none of this hardcore Kevin Butler crap, it needs to be straight to the point.
