We are too... we're also taught one of the main reasons we had to fight WW2 was the soviet union to begin with.
If it weren't for the soviet union WW2 would of never happened.
Germany would of never felt confident enough to begin the western front, and therefore would of never had the resources needed to feel confident about the eastern front.
