For PSN: Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross. Two excellent JRPG's, Chrono Trigger is probably the best JRPG Square Enix has ever produced to most. XenoGears was a great pick too, so I say just play those games. Maybe try a PS1 era Final Fantasy too.
For PS3: Uncharted 2 and 3 (Not 1, 1 is really annoying, glitchy, and crap compared to UC2), InFamous 1 & 2, Mass Effect 2 (My favorite game of this gen), Final Fantasy XIII, Valkyria Chronicles, Fallout 3, and if you love plat-formers, you might like Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction.
