Why do people continue to believe that the "NextBox" will not only be unveiled at CES or E3, but officially announced for release in 2012 as well?

M$ just did gangbusters with 360 sales during BF week, the momentum of which will continue on through the holidays and well into next year, and every single major title slated for next year has already been announced for current gen systems... Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite, Halo 4, the next COD, just to name a few.

Oh, a little game known as GRAND THEFT AUTO V!

So why in the world would Microsoft launch a new console against an epic lineup of AAA games like that for its current console and jeopardize the momentum they've got going for the 360? Fall 2013 at the earliest, so stop getting your collective panties all wet over incredibly bad rumors supposedly pointing to a 2012 launch.

And if anyone dares say that M$ is going to pull a "Twilight Princess" with Halo 4 as your argument in favor of a 2012 launch, I will personally come to your home and bitch slap the shit out of you.

I'm just curious, what makes you so sure that Microsoft won't pull a "Twilight Princess" with Halo 4?

Because why would they?  The whole reason Nintendo did what they did with TP was because the GC was dying, and the Wii had essentially the same hardware as the GC just slightly more powerful, so they purposely held TP back a year and tacked on motion controls for the Wii launch.  The 360 on the other hand has sold nearly triple the amount of units that the GC did in the same amount of time, and it's still in its prime with tons of quality software coming and no signs of slowing down, so why would M$ take it's biggest game of 2012, a game which millions of 360 owners are going to buy no matter what, and release a version with slightly better graphics on a new console, which they would probably lose money on?

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
