Hmm, probably fairly different.

WWI - would have taken a while longer for the allies to win without the USA. Because of the increased damage done to the allies during the longer war, the conditions in the treaty of Versailles would have been even more severe. This would have led to WWII occurring sooner. It would probably be this, more than the direct absence of the USA that would have made WWII more difficult for the allies, potentially even to the extent that the axis could have won. After that, history has diverged so much that it's impossible to tell what would happen.

Or maybe WW2 would have never happened. Depends on how hard these other countries were on whoever was the winner. Be ruthless enough .as we have seen in history. and you get a big deterrent for a long time.

I don't know how much more harsh the allies could have been than they were with the treaty of Versailles;

Reparations (paying the victors for costs incurred during the war), which, if Germany had met their obligations, would not have been paid back untill 1988.

Germany had to formally accept solitary responsibility for starting the war, which was not the case.

German territory was occupied by the victors for 15 years (and obviously all territory the German's conquered during the war was returned)

There were also unreasonable limits on the German army

Maximum 100k troops, and troops could only be retained for 12-15 years, to prevent the formation of an elite army

Restrictive limits on the german navy, submarines were banned outright for example.

Limits on the German air force (no armed planes allowed) and army (no tanks or armoured cars allowed)

The treaty was designed to destroy Germany, it merely angered her.
