Apple isn't dumb enough to release a product that no one wants (ie. 3D devices). It was an okay idea for Nintendo but outside of gaming, 3D is annoying and obtrusive. Still, Nintendo is holding on to a dying market in mobile gaming that is soon going to be overwhelmed by Apple, Google, and others who offer convergence devices that cost little more than a dedicated gaming device but still play a lot of games and play them well.
