Why would they not show up though? Still Germany is pretty fair I think, so things should be settled soon.

Because the only penalty for not showing up was being barred from selling Apple products in Germany. Since Apple of Germany sells all the products it didn't matter if Apple lost. It would have just been wasted lawyer costs
