Would a 3D Ipad do better than the 3DS?

Before ipod and when apple still was a fruit, they startet the touch generation. Now all devices has touch mp3 player, touch internet, and touch games . The 2 cams. They said, now it's gyro and motion, and mii's...:)  And Virtual console startet the "app's gen"

Does Apple really get the credit for the touch screen craze?  When did Apple even release a touch screen product?  The first ipod touch and iphone didn't release till 2007.  The Nintendo DS released in 2004.  So who released touch screens first?  Unless I missed or forgot about some Apple product then I believe Nintendo used touch controls before Apple.
