You can get both games on XBLA (not sure how many points they are...)
But they've held up surprisingly well through the years, and considering that they're 5th Generation games (aka the vast majority have aged horribly...), that's saying something about the quality of the games.
I would recommend playing Banjo-Kazooie first... and see how you enjoy it. It's pretty simple by today's standards, but it's still very fun.
