A search for wii game drought on google produces 738k results. The Wii has 1316 games in the VGChartz databse

A search for ps3 game drought produces 80k results. The PS3 has 823 games

A search for xbox 360 game drought produces 524k results, the 360 has 976 games.

It is not simply my claim that drought is unrelated to number of games, it is the claim of the vast majority. We are the 99% - join us, or leave our internet.

i'm really not sure what yyour point is scottie

People have claimed the Wii is in a gaming drought for the majority of its life. This is despite the fact that it has, at all times of its life, had significantly higher numbers of games released than its competitors. Thus, thismein cannot be correct in his argument that Vita is not in a drought 'because it has a lot of games'. I am in fact correct in saying that (like the 3DS at launch) it is in a drought because it does not have any high selling games that will push hardware.

@ o_O.Q - to a certain extent it is a shame, but that is just the facts. Gaming hardware will be pushed next gen by GT, Mario, Pokemon, Final Fantasy and the like. There is still lots of scope for new IP - Monster Hunter is now a powerhouse and it was only created 2 gens ago. A lot of new IP Wii games ended up selling lots of hardware. Gears became a powerhouse straight away and some of Sony's new franchises could become so if they are treated right.
