I suffered 3DS-fever for a long time I know how it feels....No WiiU atm is not distracting me too much, when I'll see the new Smash Bros or the next retro game, I'll be probably drooling just like you.
The only thing I tought about the WiiU lately is the gamepad design, I'm sure it will be confortable but what bothers me is the design, it looks awkward it's undeniable...so I tought why they haven't made somthing more like this?

Don't get me wrong, of course it should look smooth and white, an it needs a better grip, but Iim talking about the concept of a sliding screen. (this was an old fan made PSP2 mockup if you haven't recognized it)

The design is sexy and all but you have to think about the layout. The screen is in the middle for a reason. Having the screen slide up and the buttons under it would make it harder to press additional buttons or items directly with your thumbs while using the buttons and sliders. It just makes more sense the way it is placed and makes for a smother and easier reach and.

Aha, yes you are right. You know in the "official " photo they always show has confused me about proportions. The woman holding the controller has small hands...You see I had doubts it would be confrotable holding it while pressing, for example the center of the screen.

From the second photo I can more clearly see you are right.

I never noticed that before. Hmmm...are we staring at Nintendo's next success story or not. I can't really decide for myself. I think there are too many other unknown factors of the console to take into consideration to be able to guess.

The later Apple designs (and newer HD tvs) usually have the screen right to the edge of the phone/tablet/display area. This might create an impression that the Wii U is not cutting edge. This could be an actual problem if the recent rumours of a roughly current gen Wii U are true (but surely they won't be).

I still like the PSP2 mock up better. I think you could fit a screen like that on a Dual Shock 4...hmmm...OLED.

One thing's for sure, good that the 3DS is starting to bring in money.
