Take pokemon for example. Alot of people want a 3D big console black and white type of game or even snap 2. will Nintendo do it? |
The problem is Nintendo often allows their developers to do freely with their IP what they want. The company also encourages always offering new experiances with each title and very few titles from Nintendo are actually true sequels, even Galaxy 2 was entirely different gameplay with Yoshi.
GameFreak has stated several times that they don't want to do a big home console version of Pokemon. The reason being Pokemon was always meant to be a portable experiance. Pocket Monsters, the developers idea of what they wanted was for kids to go out battle and trade with friends give children and adults the oppertunity to socialize. The game was supposed to bring people together and out of the house. A true portable experiance. Bringing that to the home consoles would destroy the dream behind Pokemon.
GameFreak will likely never give the okay for a home Pokemon title like the handhelds. Nintendo might order one made by Genious Sonority and The Pokemon Company but they know they would be stepping on toes and upsetting GameFreak which is a very important developer to them.
So in the end Snap 2 is not that likely because Nintendo and Hal its developers do not like to make the same product twice. If one does get green lit expect something new, Nintendo to innovate it and change it. Yes MarioKart, SmashBros are basically the same every itteration but even Mario party has evolved anyone who plays Mario party on 64 then tries Mario party 8 will see drastic changes. In fact even Smash Bros and Mario Kart have been evolved and changed with each game.
In the end all we can do is hope, but at Nintendo the developers choose whats going to happen with the games. Sometimes the developers and the fans have different visions, but the developers if they work for Nintendo are talented and will continue to make great games even if they don't match exactly the direction we would like them to go in.
