I don't know if Cliffy B knows but today, a AAA game is referred to a 90+ game on metacritic.

This can be achieved with any game, regardless of budget.

I thought AAA just meant big budget blockbuster type games. I mean according your assessment Black Ops or Battlefield 3 won't be AAA.

The thought of AAA being referred to a numerical score and not budget became more common when the PS3 exclusive Lair bombed in reviews. It sounded stupid to call that game AAA due to its budget, but lacking in overall quality.

AAA could also refer to a games success, but not anymore due to budget.

Something can have dual meanings you know. On the forums AAA is likely meant as 90+ on meta, but someone like cliffy will be meaning it as a big blockbuster.

Really surprised you have to even think about it, how on earth would cliffy conclude that nex gen there will be no 90+ meta games ...
