The PSVita launch lineup is actually pretty good especially if you compare it to other handhelds in the past including the 3DS.

It's more like the hardware that it uninteresting.

People don't just buy hardware because the hardware is good. People buy hardware based on games. PSV doesn't have any significant games at launch, so it will have low sales. The same thing happened to the 3DS - it's launch games were nothing spectacular.

The 3DS now has some amazing games out, and is consequently getting good sales. The PSV has until December 2012 to get some good, popular games if it wants to compete.

No, the major hurdle for the 3DS was price.  People just didn't see $250 worth of value in their purchase.  Sure, lack of games didn't help, either.  I don't think the PS Vita will have that problem.  For one, the Vita is launching at the same exact price as the PSP did, which was able to sell ~12.3 million units at that price in the 15 months after its launch (at which point it got a price cut).  Of course, the Vita has a much better percieved value compared to the PSP, with much more graphical power and features.  And two, it doesn't seem Sony is going to allow the same drought of games to happen to the Vita that happened to the 3DS.

Haha, I love it. $250 for the 3DS = too high. $280-330 for the PSV (you need a memory card to play some games, inc uncharted) = people will see the value.

As for number 2. PSV has a drought. Sony has allowed it already. Sony needs to step up their game by Dec 2012 to end said drought.
