No, the major hurdle for the 3DS was price. People just didn't see $250 worth of value in their purchase. Sure, lack of games didn't help, either. I don't think the PS Vita will have that problem. For one, the Vita is launching at the same exact price as the PSP did, which was able to sell ~12.3 million units at that price in the 15 months after its launch (at which point it got a price cut). Of course, the Vita has a much better percieved value compared to the PSP, with much more graphical power and features. And two, it doesn't seem Sony is going to allow the same drought of games to happen to the Vita that happened to the 3DS.
