Marks said: Forgetting about the war side of things, the culture would be much different: - Music would suck, yeah of course many of the greats are British/Canadian such as Beatles, Stones, Queen, Rush, Tragically Hip, etc. but let's be honest most good music is American. - Movies would suck, name me one good [mainstream] movie that hollywood had nothing to do with. Bollywood sucks and Canada/Britain don't really make movies that I'm aware of. - Cars might not be the way they are. Go ahead and say American cars suck these days, but America was unbeatable from like the early 1900s (the Model T) until like the 1970's or even 80's. - TV would be boring as shit. Canada has made some good shows like Kenny Vs Spenny, Corner Gas, Red Green Show, etc. but really 99% of what Canadians are watching is American content. - There would be no American football, no baseball, basketball was invented in Canada but probably wouldn't have caught on w/o America. Basically the only good sports would be Hockey, Rugby, Golf and Tennis because soccer SUCKS. - Video games would suck. America makes some of the best video games there is. Plus there would be no Xbox. We would be stuck playing Final Fantasy and Mario instead of having great games like Fallout, Halo, Call of Duty, Gears, Skyrim, etc. I'll take this opportunity to brag that Mass Effect is made in Canada though! - Canadians would have nowhere to go in the winter. We all go to Florida or California when its cold, and all our old people move to Florida when they hit 65. Without America we'll be stuck here freezing our asses off all year. |
That post is full of ignorance, I'm sorry for saying it. Just because you don't know of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Are you telling me there are movies, TV and music outside of North America?
No in all seriousness my post was partly just trolling, I had an earlier post that was more serious. I stand by the best movies being American (biggest budgets, big name actors, etc.) but of course I'm sure there's good TV elsewhere, and I know full well there is good music abroad.
