Why does most music made after ~2000 suck?

I challenge anyone to make it through the first 12 minutes of that song without falling in love. I'm serious. It's melodic, it's heavy, it's powerful, it's emotional, has a story, and the skill on tap here is epic. After the 11 minute mark it gets really quiet and gentle, it's the last song on an album. But seriously, 19 minutes of win.

even before i clicked on the link i knew its Dream Theater from the "First 12 minutes of the song"  

yeah, few bands can handle songs that are even more than 5 minutes...let alone 20 minute epics on a regular basis.  This is what we call "epic music"/.
