In this thread we are talking about handheld games, so the real measure for Zelda's future will be the sales of OoT 3D. It probably hasn't sold as well as Nintendo hoped, but I don't think that's going to stop the 3DS Zelda from being one of that kind. I really have no hopes to see the changes happen on a home console first, so the 3DS will have to do. Just like we have to thank the DS for NSMB and thus the return of SMB on a home console. The big problem this time around is that the 3DS with its stereoscopic 3D lends itself to 3D gameplay titles, so the chances for Zelda and Metroid games like proposed in the original post are slim to none. |
