I'm a bit surprised to read that, because one minor thing that annoys me is that the sound effects are way louder than the music.

Nah, don't worry, and it's not a big thing either. I'd just like to hear the music prominently and loud (being a musician:) And I can't, if I don't want to upset my girlfriend with the sound FX. In Mario Galaxy I think the balance was more in favor of the music. Battlerock Galaxy, man, that gave me goosebumps...
