What Japan wants him to say?? Are you kidding? We just had a thread where Reggie stated that the Move and Kinect were offering nothing, but anyone with common sense and an internet connection can see there have been more games supported for those two peripherials than any on Ninty's own. So Japan told him to say something so stupid?? I dont buy it, prove it.  Reggie has given reasons why he didnt want to publish prior games, Fatal Frame comes to mind, so you're telling me that was Ninty's decision all along?? I dont buy it. Reggie can not not talk, BS, ok even if that was true, he could say alot less crap when he speaks.  It sounds to me that you're trying to say he is essentially just a puppet, I seriously doubt that Iwata is telling this guy exactly what to say, if that is true then they are weak asses and using a scapegoat and going by their past actions i doubt that is the case. YOu wanna continue painting Reggie as a victim, i dont buy it, unless you have proof that that is the case, I will continue looking at this guy like the fool I'm sure he is.

Man with the text, Im not blaming Reggie for anything, except maybe Rainfall. I know they need studios in Japan, when i talk Ninty I talk Ninty, not NOA, NOE they are all under the same umbrella, you have me confused with someone else.  My problem with Reggie is he never shuts up and half the crap coming out of his mount lately is just that..crap.

lol I never said Japan writes Reggie's speech's I said he says what they want him too. Plus what do you honestly think he is going to say when asked about Move or Kinect? That they are great platforms with amazing games and Nintendo isn't better. Seriously do you think he'd have a job long if he said crap like that? Not to mention he really wasn't that far off in his statement. When you say peripherals you really are getting off, you can't use Motion+ as it is no longer a peripheral it comes in every Wiimote and with every system. If your talking the balance board you would be right.

Umm yah actually I would say while Reggie may have been involved in the decision I doubt he made it entirely himself. I mean look at the reasons he has given, they are the same reasons Nintendo has given since they brought Donkey Kong to North America. I mean why did Donkey Kong exist because Nintendo didn't think their game would sell in America so they changed it for North America. Do you really think that every Nintendo Of America President ever hired all thinks the exact same way? That Nintendo of Japan has nothing to do with their decisions? My proof is Mother and all the other games that never made it North America long before Reggie, every Nintendo President of America prior to Reggie.

Well I'm not going to address the whole suggestion Reggie could actually stop talking. But actually yah Reggie's job is to run Nintendo of America fro Nintendo's bosses in Japan. He does need to talk and he has to a lot, PR is the reason Nintendo has him and running operations in North America and dealing with the media and local retailers is his job. What good would a President be if he didn't even talk to media or the retailers or address the fanbase? I mean he already doesn't make every decision if he didn't talk whats the purpose in having him at all?

Lets ask you another question. How upset would you be if Nintendo shot down operation rainfall and he never said anything. The interviewers ask Nintendo's reasons and he doesn't give any, just keeps his mouth shut? If Kinect and Move launch and Microsoft and Sony say the devices are better then Nintendo's and Reggie is asked about it and goes "No comment". 3DS price cut gets announced and Reggie says ziltch. If Reggie just ignored you and all of your fans and said nothing. You would be even more pissed then you are now that or you'd be just as pissed. Reggie explains why Nintendo makes these decisions and if you don't like his explanation well too bad, at least he gave you one.

Umm nope Nintendo isn't using Reggie as a scape goat. He is just their voice in North America and handles their operations here. In fact Iwata and the higher ups in Japan assumed full responsability for the failures of this year. The media and upset fans are just in denial, they don't want to point the finger at Nintendo in Japan or Nintendo's policies they want someone else to blame. So they blame Reggie.

Also again the media and the upset fans complaining and pointing the finger at Reggie or even at Nintendo Japan. They really didn't do anything wrong in the first place. They slipped up with the pricing and lack of software but they had no reason to believe 3DS would fail as bad as it did. Bringing the games from Operation Rainfall to North America would barely break even if they did, best case scenerio the game sells 200K well it took a fotune to localize, manufacture, distribute , advertise and get on store shelves. Nintendo would either just barely squeze a profit out of it or such a small profit that the effort could be better used on a more profitable product.

Lastly if your not blaming Reggie for anything but Operation Rainfall why the heck do you seem to hate him so much? You clearly accuse him of multiple things like talking too much etc...etc... But in all honesty I think I gave good enough evidence to support what I said.

Is Reggie a puppet, not entirely but he certainly is not fully in charge of Nintendo of America. I said Reggie had his wings clipped and he has but he is doing an amazing job considering he doesn't have full control. I also don't think he needs full control, he just needs more then he currently has. A few studios to make western content which he controls entirely control completely over advertising in North America. Meaning if Japan says "We need to target elderly folk" and Reggie goes "In North America we need to target teenage girls". That in North America Reggie can target the market that makes most sense in America, while Japan targets the market that makes most sense in Japan. Reggie can then ask one of his three or four internal developers to make a game or two for teenage girls. Release the games with an ad campagn and target teenage girls.

Lets face it whats best for Japan isn't always best for America and vice versa. Reggie needs to be able to operate NOA more freely.

So, Japan told him to talk crap?? Which one is it?? As for Move and Kinect, go back and actually read what he said, it wasnt about which was better he was talking about content, and no KInect and Move provide more content than any of the peripherials that Ninty has put out, fact. Balance board, nada. Motion+, zilch. Now you wanna say it doesnt count because it no longer a periphial?? Bull, how much games were released prior to it become standard controller, actually thats even more pathetic because there not even taken advantage of the extra tech.

You keep bringing up Mother, how about using a game that came out THIS decade as a better example, im sure the policies are the same and that doesnt explain why those games released in Europe when the Americas is a bigger market for them. So either A, NOE has more power or B Reggie had a bigger influence on the decision than you care to admit or C Ninty just wants to poop on the Americas for the crap of it. All good options to me, hell i even like C I just wont give them my money.

??? He didnt give a reason, thats the point. THe last i heard of it, is "we are watching Europe closely" thats not a reason, thats weasling around the subject. If he had the balls to come out and just say, I dont think those games would sell, fine. Price cut?? Im a consumer, that decision was made by people higher than Reggie, I wouldnt expect him to have any say on it and its a price cut, why would i want an explanation. Yes If Reggie said no comment a lot more I WOULD be happy.

I'll say why i dont care for him, he talks trash, cant really back it up. IT seems to me like he is just a puppet. He reminds of one of those hype men in those rockandor rap groups. No real talent just sucking of the power teat at the time.
