Makingmusic: It's good to see you too. I remember when we had each other's back on a lot of the issues facing the site and made a big ruckus on the mod forum. Hopefully we can work to make the site a better place. It's a shame you're not a mod anymore, you were the best. Hell, you beat me in the greatest user competition and then won the whole thing. That says it all

As for the issues mentioned, I don't think we need to get rid of signatures altogether. There are some very nice signatures on the site (for example, the Skyward Sword signature in this thread). But too many people get out of hand with it. Obviously, account approval gets out of hand as well. The important thing is seeking to strike the right balance.
