Some need to realise that just because one item is sold out doesn't mean it's making a killing. You could find Item A everywhere but Item B is nowhere to be found. If Item B had like 100 in stock but Item A had like 500, Item A could've sold like 400 units while Item B won't have sold more than 100 units.

Anecdotal evidence is still anecdotal and shouldn't be viewed as evidence. Still it's nice to have feedbacks. I saw some places here in Montreal they try to have Black Friday deals but the way they market this "Vendredi Noir"... really?

Well it's the word for word translation of Black Friday. Since the name comes from the fact that retailers are turning a profit or "are in the black", I'd say it still fits in French too.

Yea I know it's the word for word translation but still... I'm a native french speaker and Vendredi Noir doesn't fit at all. Sometimes they'd better come up with a custom name or leave it in english. Just like they kept Boxing Day in english... anyway I don't want to derail the thread.
