Wii will sell 20 million worldwide GUARANTEED. This puts them well over XBox 360 who only has Halo 3 to push sales for the most part. Holiday season. Think holiday season. Think months leading up to holiday season.

john, saying the 360 only has Halo is like saying the Wii is only for kids. It's just plain wrong. Yes Halo 3 will be a major console seller this year (Probably the biggest), but there are still plenty more strong 360 releases lined up. I know you're better than that man.

Which other strong 360 releases will move lots of consoles?

Forza? The 360 has already PGR3. Although these two games have differences, they are not significant.

Mass Effect? How many units did Kotor sell, 1.5-2.0 million? Now a western RPG without the Star Wars license, plus the 360 had already Oblivion that catered to the western RPG fans.

Bioshock isn't the typical FPS, I don't doubt that it will be a good game, but it won't sell well.

Shadowrun was mentioned, but it's just an online multiplayer FPS, the 360 has enough online enabled FPS games.

The problem with the 360's lineup is that the big releases this year are basically more of the same: if you are a racing game fan you got the 360 already for PGR3, if you like western RPG you got the 360 for Oblivion, if you like FPS, well you know, there are already lots of it, plus Gears of War.

There is Blue Dragon, but a game with such "kiddie" graphics is supposed to sell a lot of units or even move systems? At least it's a JRPG, something the 360 didn't have so far. Viva Pinata was a good game, had good graphics (but "kiddie"), the problem was that the 360 gamers were the wrong audience for such a game. I can see the same thing happen to Blue Dragon.

So it all comes back to Halo 3. This game will get more hype from Microsoft than Halo 2 or Gears of War. How many people bought Crackdown mainly for the Halo 3 beta? Halo 3 is THE 360 game this year.

Every big game for the 360 this year is for the existing audience (except Blue Dragon), this makes it hard to have a real system seller. In this case you need hype to move systems and which game will get the most hype? Halo 3.

I think I forgot about one major game, what was it again?

Your casual dismissal of Mass Effect, Forza 2, Bio Shock, Shadowrun, GTA IV (unmentioned) and Blue Dragon is pretty impressive. Those games will sell systems, just as Metroid Prime, SM Galaxy, and SSBB will.

How about, instead of saying: "My system has great games and your system doesn't and my system will beat you all," we all admit that each system has some powerful and compelling exclusive titles for the Christmas season? I absolutely agre, Rolstoppable, that the Wii is very likely to sell the most systems this Christmas. I'd add that I'm likely to pick one up (and I haven't owned a console in almost 10 years). I'm not arguing with that. But this isn't black and white: it isn't as if Nintendo "wins" and everyone else completely "loses." Wii will probably sell best, and Xbox360 and PS3 will sell some, too, and all three systems will have great games. I know it's not as exciting when phrased that way, but it's also true.
