Yeah, I probably stated that to definatively. I should say I think 360 will outsell PS3 over holidays although I think EMEAA and Japan will keep PS3 close enough that WW will come close to a tie. I still favour the PS3 to be ahead WW for 2011 but it's going to be close and I can see 360 reaching a draw.
But... all speculation of course as you note and far from a given.
I do wonder how things would be if PS3 had a MW3 bundle in EMEAA. I'm presuming MS paid to have exclusive WW bundle so it was probably impossible but on these numbers it's likely PS3 would have remained even closer to 360 with such a bundle in EMEAA.

Curiously, the PS3 will have the FFXIII-2 Lightning Edition Ver. 2 bundle on December 12, but only for Japan. For some reason, SON¥ refuses to release this for the rest of the world. This could do some damage. Whatever it is that MS understands 'bout bundles, SON¥ sees it differently.

Actually we don't know if the Lightning ed PS3 is releasing in the west yet, although I doubt it will. FFXIII-2 isn't releasing in the west until February.

No, I know. The Special Edition version of FFXIII-2 wasn't announced in the US until quite recently, so there might still be an opportunity for SON¥ to rectify. Even if it doesn't count towards this year, that bundle might give the PS3 a nice head start for 2012. Thing is, they didn't even entertain the idea of releasing a custom bundle for any of their exclusives this year, at least in the West. They would just cram a standard black PS3 with the game, inside a pretty box. SON¥ sees little point in making custom consoles for the likes of us.
