I love LoL. I've been playing since Ezreal (see avatar). Something about it is just awesome and addictive. It's not hard to get started if you're new but it takes a while to get use to it, especially with all the champions out now. Also, the community can be real assholes are higher ranked matches, but you learn to deal with it.
I think the best thing about it is that you really do no need money to play it. It makes leveling, earning champions and other stuff easier but you don't really have to spend a single cent to become good and go up against the high ranked players. They don't sell power, basically.
It has grown a ton since I first started playing. It's quickly a phenomenon and the tourney have insane amounts of money, as shown in the picture, the next prize pool is $5 mil. I recommend it to online player who wanna try something new and for DOTA players, it's a simpler version of DOTA but it is better in the sense that it is so much more accessible, balanced and can still be very strategic when faced with strong opponents.
