Why do people still keep using the 10 year plan as a way to estimate the PS4's release?
Do people not know the PS1 and PS2 also had 10 year plans? Its not new to the PS3. So far the pattern is a new console every 6 years (not counting re-designs) so if anything it'll be 2012...but since PS3 was such a money loser early on I could see them stretching it to 2013 or at the VERY LATEST 2014 since its now profitable and they want to salvage some money out of the PS3.
To make it last to 2013 or 2014 I think they'll need another price re-design and price drop to $200 for the PS3 maybe in 2012 around the same time Wii U comes out.
I'm betting PS4 will be same year as Xbox 3 though. Wii U is guaranteed in 2012, so I could see Xbox and PS4 being 2013 together.
