UK charts: MW3 goes top, sees less first-week sales then Black Ops

Modern Warfare 3, unsurprisingly, has gone top of the UK charts following its $400 million launch last week.

What is surprising, however, is that its first week sales are down by 1.5 percent on last year’s Black Ops. Revenue is up by 1.6 percent, though.

The particular week between November 6-12, according to ChartTrack, has been the biggest ever in the UK, no doubt spurred on by the release of MW3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Activision announced on Friday it had sold 6.5 million units of the shooter in its opening 24 hours in the US and UK, although a regional breakdown wasn’t provided at the time.
