Glad to hear you are abouty to nominate Skyrim to the game of the generation! Personally I haven't played enough to judge that far but so far it's been fantastic. Slight disappointment during the first hour actually (intro was epic but I got a big Call of Duty wibe from the linenarity and hard scripting and direction, but luckily that was only during the introduction. (FYI Todd Howard is a big fan of Modern Warfare, eek!) The feel of the world is like Oblivion once you get past the introduction. Partially I agree with Mummelman about dumbing down. I want deep RPGs, so dumbing down skills/stats is a stupid thing. That can be managed with mods though (although Im playing on PS3 now). But I actually like that they removed athletics and acrobatics very very much as those skills were far too powerful, especially being able to run away from enemies so easily. |
That is something I haven't considered yet, the modding community for TES games is massive and very good. I can imagine Skyrim becoming a truly great title with mods.
That's the best part about PC gaming!
