" However, there still is an age group which shows less support for our offers in Japan, and they are male junior-high, high-school and college students. So, when you look at the age-demographic charts of our consumers in Japan, it looks like the back of a two-humped camel. Namely, there is a significant number of users in the children’s age demographic but a dint in the high-school and college student age groups and then the number of our consumers increases once again in the adult demographic. “Monster Hunter 3(Tri)G" must appeal with great affinity to that group of consumers, and I believe you can appreciate that. Now to your question of, “Will Nintendo be ok without a title that is the equivalent of Monster Hunter in the overseas markets?", I should first confirm that there is not such a dent in the U.S. and Europe. "

Iwata asks interview suggests that money traded places (moneyhat) and that's why 3ds is gettting Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter 3g is an attempt for Nintendo to gain back that teenage and college audience in the Japanese market that they were losing ground with to the psp.

Of course why would Capcom ever admit to such a thing? Hence the cover up.

Edit: ALso ought to mention that this quote was in the context of a study published that showed Nintendo's strong children and adult market penetration, but weak teenage and yound adult market penetration.

Why not use this quote from an article interview way before MH3G was announced, thought the Sony audience already saw this:

" ....Capcoms rep:   Monster Hunter is a very important franchise to us here in Japan. It has been so widely successful on the PSP that it is now locally considered a household name . The Playstation portable brand and the Monster Hunter francise goes hand in hand. Whats even better is that the next generation of Playstation portables has dual analog controls. The transition  to this new platform is sure to happen naturally. Yes,it's sure to happen, unless other platform holders gave huge financial  incentives  to absorb the cost of potential losses we may experience in a sudden switch of platforms. But we don't operate that way *LAUGHS*. Even if that happens,  Monster hunter sequels will come out sooner or later on the Playstation portables anyway....."

Ah, i had not seen that, thank you for showing me this, however shouldnt you at least add in a tidbit or alter the thread title to reflect this unspoken truth, Capcom recieved a Moneyhat and that's why they chose the 3ds.

......I do my research
