I feel a little guilty even if there wasn't such sensitivity back then, but when I was a kid, in my town we still ate, every now and then, "mosciamme", cured dried dolphin meat (now it still exist a food with that name, but it's only made with tuna). I think it was already illegal, but Genoans are as thrifty as Scots and despite not fishing them on purpose, they would have never thrown away dolphins found stuck in the fishing nets (now there must be rules about nets and fishing techniques to minimise the chance of capturing them by mistake).

Oh yes, I know what you actually want to know: it was delicious!  O-) 

In the end, that's all that matters.
