I agree with classifying Ubisoft in the same league as EA and Activision. That in no way helps your argument though. They are all bad.

As for the response you've given to Claude:

If consumers had purchased more copies of Ubisoft's hardcore titles on the Wii, more of these crappy games would have followed, because Ubisoft would have taken it as confirmation that they don't have to put any real effort into their games.

Ubisoft split their sales expectations for Red Steel 2 in half before the game launched. A sign that they either were taking cuts on the originally planned advertisement budget or they realized from the flops of other halfassed hardcore games (of other publishers) in the year before that Wii owners have not much interest in halfassed hardcore games (which RS2 was, because the level design, mission structure and variety is as simple as it can get).

I know many people have problems with both Activision and EAGames but they do make some good games. Which is my argument they do create some high quality solid titles some of the best in the industry. I never said that they were the nicest publisher just like Activision and EA Ubi is thinking about the bottom line. How to make the most money.

I agree a lot of the titles they launched on Wii were half assed. However I am confident that if their big franchises had sold reasonably well they would have invested more in them. Meaning quality would have improved but the lack of sales of their hardcore games lead them to believe that cheap casual software was the way to go. So rather then investing in larger budget higher quality software UbiSoft realized they could make more money by cranking out cheap Just Dance, Raving Rabbids and Petz games.

Red Steel 2's sales expectations were cut because other publishers shooters were not performing very well. UbiSoft had already stated that hardcore games didn't sell well on Wii a conclusion they came to when their solid IP failed to generate a profit. This conclusion was probably accurate to a degree a solid FPS has never sold that well on Wii, even the first Red Steel was not as successful as most shooters on the HD consoles are. Red Steel 2 was a dissapointment to me and I didn't end up buying it, so I guess I was part of the problem.

If Wii had been a successful market for UbiSoft's IP I am pretty sure UbiSoft would have dedicated more resources to producing higher quality games. But in all honesty there is only so much you could do with the Wii, The Conduit is a perfect example the game was easily the best shooter on the Wii and even after playing the CoD games I must say it was a higher caliber then most Wii software. Yet Conduit bombed big time and the developers what more could they actually do to make Conduit a better shooter then what was being offered on the HD consoles.

UbiSoft was just being smart business wise, they saw that their cheap casual crap sold millions of copies and out sold their higher budget titles from their established franchises. Why would they invest tons of money bringing the higher quality software to Wii when it is obvious that the consumer base was not interested? Example if UbiSoft had put UbiSoft Montreal on a Wii project to create a new IP for Wii or even bring one of its best IP to Wii. Would the game have sold? Even with the biggest studio in UbiSoft and one of the best studios in the world?

I don't blame UbiSoft for making cheap ass software, the consumers bought it over the bigger budget games. How can you blame them for giving the consumers what they wanted? Rol you and I and the others who desperatly want high quality software with big budgets and a great studio, we are not the majority of the Wii consumers.

Hopefully the ports and software UbiSoft brings to WiiU is successful. If it is we might see more of UbiSoft's higher quality software released. I would love to see some Ubi Montreal games on WiiU!
