The games look great, but I disagree that there is a lot of juice left for gameplay innovation. All resources are used up to make them look great, restricting games to smaller and smaller gameplay areas, dumber AI and less characters on screen. A new gen will add a lot of memory and computational power to play with that will not all immediately be used up by the latest graphical touches like melting snow of batman's wings. Most innovation can be found in psn/xbla games that don't concentrate on maximizing the graphics. Anyway the best is still to come, Ni No Kuni and The last Guardian are coming next year. And skyward sword ofcourse, even though it's technically a sequel it's the first zelda game made for this gen. |
