yep thats exactly how i see it. well i've been saying it all yr lol. i also don't think Sony needed a pricecut this yr., but i think it was the right move. my only question is what will Sony do in 2012 to fight off a 360 price cut? they currently have nothing big enough announced as far as exclusives are conserned , and a price cut would put them in a very good position but i don't see Sony making another price cut.

Dunno. They cut the price by just $50, so I guess another $50 cut is possible next year. I guess it depends on when PS4 is released.

yea i can see that happening, but even with FF13v (still EC) and Medal of Honor which seems to sell better on PS3 and is one of the worst person shooters ever made but still manages to sell! there no match for Halo and COD which is the worse person shooter ever made.

They'll have some SW to push HW for sure. Twisted Metal, The Last Guardian, FFv13... and probably others we don't know about.

yea but FFv13 and the Last Guardian are the onlyones known to be releasing during 2012 holiday season. i'm just wondering how the last guardian will do sales wise with other block buster ip releasing at that time. i hope TLG doesn't get lost in the shuffle!

Anyway, Sony decide these things much in advance, that's why they can forecast how many units they'll sell in a year, they know whether they're cutting the price months before. So I guess it'll come down to their mid-term strategy before the release of PS4. If it releases in 2014, they may not cut the price until 2013.

agreed. i see 2014 aswell but i think Sony is in stealth mode waiting for for the 360 announcement so they won't be last out the gate. atlease not by a yr.

On the other hand, it seems Sony favors marketshare to profits, possibly in preparation for next-gen when they'll have a fresh start. So they may cut the price next year anyway.
