I actually do it in real life too, I usually do it after I tell a joke, when I wasn't being serious or when I tell a bad joke and want to pretend I wasn't serious.
I only do it for like a second, it's like a funny face... It got stuck with me when I was a teen and it was the "in" thing to say silly stuff and end the phrase with "aah, re!" or "aah, re loco!" or "aah, re boludo!" and then stick your tongue out like that... you could also only say the phrase, or only stick your tongue out... it was pretty much the same.
It's sort of what the kids in this pic are doing but you don't stay doing it for long, you do it pretty fast:
I'm not supposed to do it anymore at my age... but I can't help it.
I also keep doing the ":P" all the time in MSN and even here... but a lot more in MSN... like I finish almost every phrase with a ":P", lol.
