Well the mariokart audience alone is ~21mil. Not counting the millions( tens of millions?) who pirated it, borrowed it or bought it second hand.

I don't think ~140mil out of the ~149mil ds owners were casual lol.

What I meant by hardcore are the people who would by a console regardless of price just because of the Nintendo name.  Sorry for the confusion.
